CONTEXT:
This week I Began working on the new Demi & Kyana Podcast Project! This is where we have taken their popular radio show out of the studio environment and turned it into a more relaxed chilled conversation between the two of them.
RESEARCH:
Story: The podcast is an extension of Demi & Kyana’s radio show as this sees them in a more free environment not restricted by the songs. For similar podcasts, we were inspired by:
Stylistic: The Podcast is styled similarly to the Happy Hour Podcast.
Technical: When deciding the technical side of things for this podcast we spoke to Reece the media tech and decided that instead of a radio studio room 305 would be more suitable, As it’s now purpose-built for what we want to do with the podcast.
PLANNING & PRODUCTION:
I started the week by emailing both hosts and their other main producer, Sam Chisholm (Prody Sam!) to see what they wanted to get out of the podcast and arrange a meeting to talk about it
With the ideas created in this meeting, we then got a collaborative word document going and started to plan the episode and what the girls wanted in it.
PROBLEM-SOLVING:
Problem: The Room was locked at the start of our booking meaning we couldnt get in to record.
Solution: As I Made the booking by email i sent Reece another one on our email chain to see if he was able to come and unlock it.
Problem: The Room wasn’t set up to how we needed with the mics or table.
Solution: We managed to move the tables and swap them out along with the mics into the other table.
