Project Proposal

SECTION 1 – RATIONALE:
For the last 4 years I have been presenting at AIR 107.2 and in recent months taken on the AIR 107.2 Breakfast show. During my time I have learnt a range of skills to help me develop and software to help me in doing my job. Using software like Myriad Playout to record my show, Adobe Audition for editing audio clips and effects that I use in the show along with interviews.

SECTION 2 – PROJECT CONCEPT:

My Project will be the AIR 107.2 Breakfast show where for 6 days a week I will creatively produce, plan, edit and present the AIR Breakfast show. The show is aimed at residents of Weymouth & Portland Aged 16-24 who listen to the radio with the show being styled like Capital & BBC Radio 1 – I Am aiming for a CHR Radio Style.

The plan for the next few weeks for the show is to further develop the show and add new features and make the show a lot better overall. I Will do this by listening to other shows on other stations like Radio 1 and Capital to help me gain ideas.

I also want to make it more interesting as a listener and to help me develop as a presenter and producer. The show will continue to be 6 days a week 8 am-11 mon-fri. One of the ways I’m looking to improve it is to get more interviews and guest features as these help me interact and engage with the show audience creating a better reach and helping improve the show in the long term. I’m also looking to get out into the community more as part of this.

SECTION 3 – EVALUATION :

Over the weeks of this project, I will be writing weekly reflective logs to help me reflect on what I’ve done and how. I’ll also record notes from meetings with teachers and peer-to-peer reviews on how I can improve my project and what I can change. Any changes to the plan and anything I do during the week will be documented on there

Description /

I Am producing and presenting the AIR 107.2 Breakfast show. Aimed at people who live in Weymouth & Portland, they are aged 16-24 and listen to AIR 107.2 in the morning

Backstory

My show is inspired by both Capital & Radio 1 Breakfast. And is your standard breakfast radio show that you would hear on any UK commercial radio station.

 Scope /

Im doing a daily breakfast show that’s made to entertain Weymouth & portland and start their morning. Itll cover a wide range of topics suitable to all ages with content not only covering UK News but also lots of local events and news as this is most relevant to the listener.

Target Audience /

the target audience is AIR Listeners so its the content is aimed at 16-40 year olds who live in Weymouth & Portland and listen to AIR 107.2!

Constraints /

Its FREE, And will take 4-6 weeks OF ON AIR CONTENT AND 6 WEEKS OFF AIR.

Assumptions /

There are Radio Studios I Can use, I also have to assume that the station has listeners!

Resources /

It’s just me working on this project, It does rely on everything working at air but it’s just me in the project. So I need to ensure all the kit and technology is working and that i show up!

Success /

I Will measure success by listener interaction via text and online along with listener stats. These are monitored and sent to me weekly, in increase in these shows that the project is sucsessfull

Deliverables

I Will have lots of show plans from the shows I have presented and produced. I Will also have recordings of my best links from it.
