Context: This week i continued my research into my FMP And looked into radio demos to get a better understanding of them.

Research: This week I looked into radio demos by listening to some that other people have created and also reading into how to create them, i also watched a few videos that i found online and then have taken some mental notes to use as ideas for mine.

I noticed whilst doing this that some presenters actually cheat (kind of) when it comes to radio demos as they often will re-record links that they did earlier in the year and make them sound more professional and slick. Whilst this makes sense I plan to do this as little as possible with my demo to keep it professional and original

Practical:

This week i mainly watched videos online on youtube for ideas on how to create radio demos along with listening to some that i found online and also asking fellow students for their demos.

DEMO SAMPLE: https://youtu.be/sCf3caBfmgI – THIS demo gave me ideas and a good starting point as this presenter was on the station i present on.

I also read some articles online and took some mental notes on what i should and shouldn’t include along with how to style the demo, these tips were also good in how to improve as a presenter overall

ARTICLE 1 & EXPLANATION:https://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/radio-demo-tape-advice.html – This article explained to me how it should be well produced and high quality as its the first impression of someone I’m setting.

ARTICLE 2:https://thepips.co.uk/hints-tips/demo-tips/ – this one tells me that it should be my best moments in radio none of the rubbish and normal stuff, i also found out it should be targeted towards the station your sending it to

Also throughout the week, i left the form i started last week open to gain some more responses before later in the week closing it to allow me to get some statistics and figures on what i need to do/include.

Evaluation:
WWW: I Managed to create a form collecting a good amount of decent responses
EBI: If I asked more detailed questions to help me get a better understanding of what’s needed.

WWW: I got a better understanding of the audience and what gets their attention in a radio demo
EBI: I Left the form open for longer and shared it with a wider group to help get more opinions.
